Yeppers, its enough to make me wanna 'cry' in frustration, all the shipshod craftmanship doled off on us today. I really cannot understand how it's gotten away with.

I like the idea of calling a news camera in...
Reminds me of a time a house we rented was having a paint job on the exterior, and painters didn't even tell us, the tenants what was happening, or to close our windows. Idiots! And the rental manager was mad at me for complaining! I think the painters must have been his relatives or something.

There's alot of such goings on in the news in Montreal right now TAPS. There is no excuse for shoddy work. I'd be calling the landlord. He may not even know, and the manager may be on the take.

That's what I love about Ell. She doesn't use the same derogatory descriptions you do, Taps - she just shakes her head after I've done a job.

Hi dear Taps how frustrating is this.
It can't even be cheap if they take so long. The management need a few phone calls.

Hi taps!
This is so distressing! my dad's building had a two year renovation (thermal insulation and complete renovation of the facade) but it was pleasure to see the pride the workers took in their work. I would have thought that in this harsh economic climate people will do their best to keep a job by being professional and conscientious but then for many the low pay becomes a convenient excuse to do a lousy job!

I know you like this place, but
it's possible you'd be safer somewhere else. Would you dare step out onto your balcony knowing how fragile it is?
Perhaps a video of the crew at "work" should be shared with the contractor's main office -- or your local TV news station. Investigative journalists get their leads from tips, and shoddy construction that leads to injuries is perfect TV material, plus it fits the first rule of "news" -- if it bleeds, it leads.

that is the way of companies these days hire for the lowest pay and settle for what they give you, again its greed.

I am sorry you are being subjected to that... It is shameful how landlords sacrifice quality to saving money. I hope the job they do its not too bad at the end but if you feel so strongly about it maybe you should call the city's powers to be... I am sure if those workers are so non -chalant about their work they probably are not licensed and the city inspectors might force your landlord to get licensed workers to do the job. You probably would not even have to give your name for the complaint, cities are hurting for money and eager to get income from fines, permits and the such. Good luck sweetie xoxo

I’m guessing they were the lowest bidder for the job and sometimes, well, you get what you pay for. Sounds like watching them is really driving you crazy but like you I’d be shaking my head as well…..
