It is at best a self-promotion tool. Forget the silly posts!

Yes, this does happen on Facebook, and you haven't talked of those silly
quizzes, and so many more silly (to me) things! But not everyone uses Facebook that way, do they?

Obsession - Self-Involvement - Social Network Power - and Facebook Beauty

Facebook is quite a tool for socializing and contacting, and may be a great way to distract ourselves - when we may need to re-prioritize some things. However, so can many other channels we use here, be an addictive source and obsession of pleasure.

The self-involved point about the online profiles was so right-on! That's my humble opinion.  To express the minuscule details of one's life may have a preoccupation-with-oneself appearance to it.

Am I for Facebook? You bet. Just recently - after creating my new account, I found a part of my past, that I can reacquaint myself with - (just like everyone else can do, of course), and I am so thankful for that. The power of a social network that can help you to "with a mouse-click" -connect and find people all over the world, and some you have not been in touch with in years -is really amazing!

Looking at the beauty of Facebook, you can see that exploring our immediate microcosm families just brings us closer to seeing that we are all just one big extended macrocosm of a family - by six or (maybe less) degrees.

Oh do I EVER agree with you!!!
Can I just tell you how many marriages are getting roughed up by Facebook? Old boyfriends and girlfriends are coming out of the woodwork; those that we've not thought of in years, nor would we want to. Spouses are feeling insecure every time their significant other gets on the computer; who are they chatting with now? It makes my skin crawl. Right on for speaking out.
