IS FUTILITY A STATE OF MIND OR A STATE OF EXTERNAL CIRCUMSTRANCES?
Made me want to slit my wrists with a dull spoon and die slowly, but I loved it, a great peice of work!

Excellent poem...and the sentiments so true!

An awesome piece! The feeling of futility & weariness come alive in this poem, you feel them as you read the lines!

It is a wonder how the approaching fall seems to influence us and our writing. Melancholy does suit my moods right now. By the way, Freeman came yesterday and talked to my Mann (I was at Uni). Of course if was disappointed that MEGIRL wasn't there....

Sam - how beautifully you have captured all these feelings. Melancholic feelings and all the questions within, something I can relate to so well. Take care sweet Sam.

a very imageful definition of futility, sam...sounds like something Solomon
would write as he pondered "all is vanity".....

Sometimes that's the hardest feeling...not knowing what to expect the following day.  Life can be so challenging at times, but each of those challenges prepares you for the next! An insightful read indeed!

I've been through all this. Understand the dilemma!

Lately you’ve used imagery of fire and darkness. Your paradox of the moon, masquerading so to say as the sun rises to the level of Emily Dickinson. I feel what you’re going through love. People make their orbits past you like at a Halloween costume party. Indeed Smiling Faces Sometimes came out in the fall. They don’t fall around with me. BC-A, Bill*s Cyberspace Hotlink

You have indeed captured the melancholy mood in all its futility Shelly. It seems we must sometimes face the darkened side  for we are not always found with laughter and pleasant thoughts. Brilliant write!
