Sex isn't always the objective.
Sometimes girls and guys find that they have a lot in common but aren't physically attracted to each other. It just depends on the person. It makes one wonder if your "online" guy is one of those who would pose as a friend in order to get sex and is assuming that every guy is that way. Even someone as jaded as me know this isn't always the case.

Boys and Girls can be great friends without sex on their minds. I have a guy friend who is my best friend, confidante, always there in times of need and a great musician. And I also have a girl friend who's been a best friend to me for 35 years soo..it all depends on what you are looking for in a guy..I guess.

Well, I am a man and I would say that it might be true for some men and in some cases, but it definitely ain't true in the UNIVERSAL sense - definitely not! And what you said is right - in some cases sex might be on the agenda but then after a while it is not any more. While in some cases it can be the other way round or sex might not be there in the first place at all.

it is not true........because you don't feel such soft corner to everyone,
sometimes some people are very selective.........if you could feel sex to every man in the world....yuk.......that stings......
