Re: shelly_b
Thank you shelly. I think she is already over the worst. We are pretty much a healthy bunch except for age-related things.

A few things. 1: I love Faith - I forwarded videos about that great dog last week to everyone on my email list. 2. Don't look down on echinacia and garlic! My college boy just called to ask if I could send those plus Vitamin C, as he's got a "bad cold" too. I hope you don't get the bug! 3; Thanks for commenting about my onthecheap website. Re: the HawkWatch - my mom is a long-time teacher-naturalist at Audubon and she's been trying to get me to do the HawkWatch for YEARS. So, a few days ago, I stayed for awhile and got to see a rare "kettle" - that's when a bunch of hawks start circling upwards on the thermals and when they reach a point where the wind is strongest, they shoot out of the funnel. It was absolutely cool, though we had to see it through binoculars. Always good to read you, Taps - and STAY HEALTHY!! WASH THOSE HANDS!! Mal

I like your concept on the flu. Second my landlady called animal control on a stray dog in the driveway. On the latter issue alternatives are needed at the animal shelter love. BC-A, Bill’s Roost

The good news -- from my persepective --
is the new flu hasn't been so virulent toward older people. It's the pregnant mothers and young children that need flu shots for the swine thing. Of course there are some vulnerable ones in your group, and it could be the regular flu which is bad. Keep a supply of aspirin, orange juice and chicken soup handy....

I am down too!
I have tried to take every precaution but I'm sitting in my bed with three heavy blankets on top and still shivering like a dry leaf. My worst fear is that Adam would catch it as it gets really tricky to care for a sick 4-year-old when you r not in ship shape yourself. Take care of yourself Taps, don't let the flu virus bite!

I hope "
It ain't you, Babe"! From experience, it's a nasty bug, with very sharp little pearlies, LOL! I remember seeing this video - proof that there is still alot of love and caring out there. I'd have to agree, and think that your Sis is going to want to bring one (or many) of those sweet creatures home with her.

This is such a wonderful story. She is so precious. I could not have had that patience I think. They are too, identified by Faith as well. Everybody pitched in to help, train and love this dog. It was great.
