Re: Nautikos
Well, I'm sure you are aware that it is just a take off on the Ogden Nash
Purple Cow poem. It definitely is not original. LOL

I've seen Clinton in person. He threw out the first pitch at an Oriole game.
I would rather not be a president either.

Neato, TAPS
An old friend of mine shook GW's hand and fell instantly in love. It'samazing how different public figures are in person. I've never shakenone's hand, but I did meet Elie Wiesel and got his autograph (waybetter than any president), and I've seen Queen Elizabeth in aprocession down the Champs Elysees.
Life is strange.

Al Gore, on the campaign trail...
Not President as it turned out...
My husband's mother whom I never met got her food trod on by Johnson at his innaugural ball... My husband's father worked for Truman as part of his PR team in his campaign, and later as Assistant Post Master General. He used to say he retired with the rank of General. I never met him, either.

LOL at your response. Speaking of which (responses), I don't remember telling you what a beautiful little doll is your granddaughter. I don't remember commenting on that one after I saw her and read your beautiful words. I think I got sidetracked.

Re: Re: Corbin_Dallas
I quit actually working in politics, after Reagan left office......tired of always having to look over my shoulder, if you catch my drift. I started my own business because I wanted to travel.... I am still addicted to it...but on my own personal level.
Some time I think I'll do a post about the first time I met Nixon in a cemetery outside of Louisville when I was 17. It was a few years after he made the famous "You don't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore" speech.

I'm surprised that you haven't met more of them since Reagan. You seem to me to be a person right in the middle of anything going on.

Good blog, Taps! I love your sisters.
As for meeting a president, I once got a Christmas card from Bill and Hillary because I donated a couple dollars to their campaign. And there was that time Mr. Lincoln came to town and I served him a cup of coffee... heh heh heh...
