Emily Dickinson is a poet I like, and her poems have caught my attention more then once. I have a small

book of her poetry. And now I feel like opening it up and reading.

That's what I love about poetry! It can be ambiguous and still have great meaning for whomever reads it! Interpretation is in the eyes of the beholder! This is a fantastic blog, I am enjoying it immensely! sam

Abanerjee - Excellent. I love Emily Dickinson's poems and Death is one of my favorites. How genius that she thought to portray Death going out to meet her..She too had a tragic love life and was mostly confined to the sanctuary of her home. Her Christian upbringing maybe a little blamed for this.Thank you for this, I enjoyed it tremendously. Also thank you for taking the time to give me a lengthy explanation on your post yesterday.

Very thought provoking. Tis always good when one reads something that leads to an investigation of the mind.

Troosha
At times, something which looks so simple can be imbued with so many deeper layers of meanings that it can become difficult to isolate the one. That is the beauty of poetry. Prose is plain.

Your last paragraph certainly poses a good many questions as to where the author might be coming from.....
