Re: Re: The Dow Is Down
RedStatesMan, you will receive a "call from God" telling you that you need to go back to your school books and look up the definition of "socialism" then you might want to examine how social security strongly resembles "socialism" but I am sure you will be the first to collect it when you grow up.

Re: The Dow Is Down
I see you are a new one to the fray here. Welcome!
I have never said I was against healthcare reform it is just that I am against socialized medicine which, I argue, is what obama is all about. He is a worthless liberal socialist. The entire democrat party is socialist. i do not have to go to other nations to see what socialism is about because I do not care what they choose to do with their lives. I am here and this is my country and I do not want to follow BIG government from womb to tomb! Yes, I do read books and do not sit in front of the TV all the time. I have a bachelor degree in History/Social Science and a minor in Economics.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK MY FRIEND!

Re:
Soulbuilder- At age 17, I asked a wealthy man what did he think the stock market would do for the coming year. The millionaire said that there is only one word to best describe the future of any stock market and that is: Fluctuate.
You are absolutely correct! Just like it did under Bush. It hit it's all-time high under the Bush administration then look at what happened. This was the point I was getting at in this post after all of these liberals were rejoicing over a short spurt.

The stock market is a gambling paradise. Up or down, its not about worrying about anybody. They worry for themselves!

The Dow Is Down
This is written on August 17th 2009 and the Dow is down yet the companies that several companies have not seen a downturn and guess what they represent? Health insurance carriers. Yes semi-literates, health insurance carriers who are spending $millions of dollars each and every day to keep the status quo, i.e. to make sure their pockets remain full. Those who quote "socialism" (although I doubt they really know what it means because
a) they never travelled outside the USA
b) they didn't pass their civics/history courses
c) maybe have only a high school diploma d) refuse to read a non-fiction book but sit in front of the television dumbing themselves down.
Anyone who cannot see that those fighting any type of healthcare reform are using the oldest trick in the book (divide and conquer) ought to be afraid and need to be very afraid, but not about killing off grandma and grandpa, but afraid they won't make it to the age of 55. For anyone under the age of 30, by the time they reach 35, health care will cost them approximately $900 per month and by that time employers (not even the cushion government jobs will pay for healthcare).
So don't worry about the Federal deficit because a BIG part of America will be living below the poverty line while the clever lobbyists and insurance company big shots live in luxury with pensions and healthcare plans better than Donald Trump or Bill Gates can find.

Re: stocks dropped because of a "fear", not an actuality
You really do not want me to go back and copy your emails about this topic and how great everything was now, do you? That would be embarassing so I will not do that but I knew all along it will take longer than people expect but the liberals have been claiming victory when there is no victory to claim yet.

Do you remember who was in the White House when the DOW hit it's all-time high ever? I think you do but I know you will not say because you can't say it.

stocks dropped because of a "fear", not an actuality
and I posted my statements to show how little you have to stand on when you make your accusations.
still do.
It took about a decade and WWII to lift us out of the Great Depression -- and you seem to expect that we will be lifted out of this comparable mess within 7 months -- talk about unrealistic.
