I have to tell you that it was 'as a child,' barely into puberty, and even before that, that I remember truly, but
truly loving in the way your poem describes.
I never had the good fortune (well almost never) to be able to feel those feelings of joy, passion, elation and love, as an adult.
To have experienced and felt love and passion, just as your poem so perfectly describes, as a child, has been worth the whole of the rest of my long life. I would have lived just for those precious moments if that was all the time I had been given.
So, frankly, your poem put me back into the memory of my own state of ecstasy....
