Contemplating life....
Indeed! The funny thing is I just started a new poetry blog this morning called Contemplative Poetry.

I reproduce the first poem for you here....Hope you like it!

Consider This

We are men, women
And, consider this:
Soon we will be gone.

See our frailty
Our weariness
Soon we will be gone.

We shall no longer be
Men, women.
Our poor bodies
Lightened from life’s burdens
In death will lie
And wait patiently
To be put to rest.

Consider this.

So what now, O Lord,
Would’st thou have me do?
When I consider our demise?

Be a man, woman…
Be that which I created you to be
For soon you will be no more
Your time will have come
And you will be done.

Then you need to be able to say:
Thank you God
Heavenly Father
You gave me the light of day
You gave me a chance to be
A man, woman
And I took it.

See, here I am
Broken, penniless
At the door of death
And I can say,
I praise you holy God.
Thank you
With my last breath.
