has it occured to you that perhaps a person dug the hole and buried a
body under your house?   Just a thought.

I am just trying to imagine how it must feel, but I really think you must
pursue this matter seriously with your landlord, so you call in whatever services to check

Re: I'd rather have a groundhog than an alligator or a big ass snake!
Shelly...I've made the mistake of turning this tiny little situation into a made for t.v. movie.  HOWEVER...this is a GINORMOUS HOLE.  Lest we not forget this!  Anyways...my man has since covered the hole with a plast tarp.  I'm not sure if this is good.  Will the creature be trapped beneath the house (cuz' of the tarp) or will it be unable to come back in.  NONE THE LESS...I do NOT want it coming in through the hole, into the house, which would allow it to feast on what's insid our home.  IT is 9:15 p.m. CST.  If you do not hear from me in 3 minutes I just want you to know that I love you, and I have thought of you often.  PLEASE...for the love of Gawd, move forward in your life.  I will be just fine living "...on the other side."  If you hear from me within the next 3 minutes than HEY...life is grand, and my stupid ass may have blew things out of proportyion!  XXX OOO

Re: Gentle Ben wasn't a rat. Response to XENO and BC-A

BC-A:  It's 9:07 p.m. CST... the "Blip#$!@" landlord has not repsponded to a call sent at 4:05 p.m. yesterday.  I'm frustrated and a still a little scared.  While everyone should know that  I'm a big girl and that I typically am unafraid of MOST THINGS, I still accidentally or co-incidentally wonder if this fury woodland creature (or a bigger creature) will come in the house and attempt to eat me or my loved one.  I hold out hope that all is well...that the ginormous hole is just bending my scope on reality and is a mask for something simple and totally explainable.  I will keep everyone posted.  Seriously, though, what if it makes it INSIDE MY HOUSE?

Again...I'm frightened...please hold me.  LOL

Re: If they didn't carry the bubonic plague, I might LOL
Ariala:  I'm letting you slide on this ONLY because you are a #1 fan of ground hogs.  That's it.  That's all I have to say.  You're one lucky woman, simply because it MIGHT be a ground hog.  Plain and simple.  I will keep you posted, darlin'.  XO

I'd rather have a groundhog than an alligator or a big ass snake!

Hope the landlord does something quick!

Gentle Ben wasn't a rat.
Our mole Cleopatra sensed my attitude toward animals. It used to burrow around the plants in my garden. I don’t think that burrowing animals such as groundhogs, moles, and even a big rabbit that it might be attack humans unless cornered.  However watch out for unidentified mammals, dogs, and snakes, sweetheart. If it loks like it's going to attack you call animal control or the fire department. BC-A, Bill*s Cyberspace Hotlink

Ariala
If it's a ground hog it's an INCREDIBLY large ground hog.  You are welcome to come and rub it, love it, and remove it from my property.  LOL
