Thank you for introducing this topic. One of the better trends nowadays is that people do not push incest under the carpet; they talk about it. This type of wound can never, ever be forgotten.

Some children you would think are in a heavenly spot for children, have everything but safety from even other family members. It is a shame. I am delighted yours was not that way, thank God for those like yours.

I missed this first time round so I am so glad you have posted again.

This is full of truth that can never be over told. I used to think that I had a normalchildhood.....now I realize that it was priveleged. Great post dear one.

Isn't that the truth. Sometimes mothers were afraid to confront the perpatrators for fear of the shame attached to the daughter getting out and bringing more hurt. This was kept as a horrible secret with the young girls to take the brunt of pain for centuries. NOW WE CAN ATTACK IT HEAD ON!

Powerful write, Justi.  Unfortunately it is something than some women never fully recovery from but that goodness it is no longer a family secret or a taboo subject and victims can find help and support within most communities.
