Sunnybeach7 - I don't get it either

The penchant to give credit to God for only the good things that happen in life doesn't make much sense when examined honestly. This mythical being whom many believe controls all outcomes should also take the blame for the bad things that happen in life.

It goes to show how pervasive this general attitude is. The bad things are dismissed as "God's will" while the good things take place because God decided to randomly intervene.

In the question you pose at the end of your comment; I'm sure some religious person has a ludicrous answer for that one.

Gome...
I could not agree more.

What I find most sad is that I have seen many people who "praise God" when their ill or injured friends and relatives somehow manage to live instead of die...even if they were just being treated for something minor.

And this, years after their "God" has abandoned them. And how many of those same "praise God" when someone they know is dying with cancer?
Why does their God punish them with these things? Surely if it was "their time to go", God could make them die peacefully in their sleep or such, right?
