Nautikos - a stupid question
I assume when you say that you are not willing to lose your personal files that you are speaking of running a system recovery (recover to factory condition which is destructive to existing files) but have you attempted a simple system restore? (restore to last known good configuration - non destructive to files) . . . forgive me for stating the obvious and I'm sure a restore has been tried but of it hasn't been attempted, a restore has about a 60% chance of debillitating common viruses.
With a little more detail of what has been tried and what the symptoms are, I may be able to help.

I haven't been on Blogit much lately either, but not due to bugs (unless you take into account the travel bug). Gee- I sure hope you fix your ailing computer and we're back to Naut's thoughts...Mal

Nautikos
I am so sorry. I hope the guru can make it all good again. I get nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof when the computer gets in a snit.
Go play for awhile all will be better.
