Re: Raising your own personal bar.
Hi Guy! I know what you mean, back in college my friend and I were the same as you, but we played fooseball. We never lost.

Raising your own personal bar.

  Mikey,

I became quite a good 8-ball player by sharpening my skills against much better players, than myself. I never thought about what a drag these thousands of games playing against the pool hack that I used top be, must have been for THEM! Later, when I became a pretty good player, it became harder and harder to play against others who could challenge me and fine tune my game. My friend Dan and I would have to travel further and further away from our area, to avoid wanabees lining up to take one of us on. We just wanted to be able to play against each other! We learned what it felt like to be on the  other side of lifting the bar, for others.

Re: Sinome
Hi Sinome! Thank you for your kind words. I will pass on your kudos to my mom. She was definitely pushed to her limits by all of us, but especially me the middle kid.

Wonderful post Mike... So true!  That is the reason I post here in Blogit... I read so many  talented writers in here that I feel I have to push myself to be better every day... as a result , though I have still much to learn, my writing has improved :-)  By the way... Kudos to your mom... three boys in three years had to be a challenge :-)  to have and to raise  loll... Judging by you she did a fantastic job.  Take care of you xoxo
