I agree with what WileyJon said....
I think that it is virtually impossible be be even "neutral" never mind "love" people who have deeply hurt you; your family or committed some odious crime.

It is not natural to love these people or their actions with a complete absence of some sort of negative feeling in your heart UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE GRACE OF GOD TO DO IT.

By this I mean that it Love for enemies is a SUPER-NATURAL virtue which only God is able to do (Christ within us).

If we allow Him to love through us we can experience something of the love that by ourselves is impossible to do.

Agreement with the proverb is agreement to allow Christ to possess us and forgive in my opinion, it is not by force of hman will, effort or 'obedience' that true Love can be created.

I don't think one 'chooses' to hate or to love, I think they are emotional happenings but love is the only one He brought to us and told us to spread. The hate one maybe just pray about it. Good post luv.
