Poetry is hard work for me at times. Other times, not so.
The Scripture is a timely word. That version brings it out and gives it pathos and impact.

Well now this is it...
I do not usually comment on your biblical postings because I read the very same sort of thing daily - sometimes morning, noon and night.
The psalms to me contain the absolute essence of man's relation to God and God to man in the time they were written and of course, now too, they are as contemporary and relevant as they were thousands of years ago.
I FEEL what the psalmists as if it is I, myself, am the subject of the psalmist; and to me Jesus, I intuitively believe, felt the same or similarly - as does every normally pious Jew and of course, now, Christians, too.
I do not find personally Ismael's statement very relevant to me. I do not find poetry a hard grind at all. Maybe if I did give more thought to it I would produce deeper, more thoughtful poems, but at the moment that is not what I am aiming to do. (I am not really aiming to do anything very consciously as far as I can see anyway. I write and let the chips fall where they may.)
Peace and love to you my dear faithful friend in Christ,
Jonathan
