Pat
I take it your Mother and my elder sister were related, Pat. Muriel ruled our world with grammatical perfection, not to mention the fact that she knew all there was to know about everything - and that included my job.
My Mother would start trembling as soon as she knew Sis was coming to visit her. Even as Sis walked into the living room and greeted my Mother, she was running a finger along the top of the bookcase and grimacing. My in-between sister and I tried an experiment once. We cleaned and polished the top of the bookcase until it shone; she still grimaced.

WOW !! Written superbly. I have to admit, their was a time in my
life ( a short while) that I had a similar attitude, but I am so forgiving of everyone and everything, that I have learned, not all men are the enemy.
