Red,
When I read your first para, I said to myself, "Excellent & wise thoughts", but then comes the next para, and I must say I was disaappointed in your slipping again into partisan views on a humanitarian issue...but then again, I read the dialogue between you & Kooka, and felt relieved that you two might be starting to look impartially at the good in a person / group, situation, values, something basic to a civil society, yet ignored by so many. Peace & regards,

Re: RSM, that is not a liberal thing at all
I am more upset that Ensign has not resigned than you are! Like I said, I don't care, they must resign. You do have a point here. It seems like the Republicans who have done this in Ensign and Sanford are acting more like Clinton and both Kennedy's in refusing to resign.

RSM, that is not a liberal thing at all
You see, this is very much what the post I wrote yesterday was talking about.  You do put you and other Conservatives on a moral pedestal, pretending that you have a better grasp of morals than those of us who do not share your views.  You don't and never will.

McCain got away with it with next to no public out cry, although many of his friends gave up on him.

Rudy Giuliani's affairs more or less went unpunished by his fellow Republicans.

Sen. John Ensign of Nevada seems to be going under the radar for the most part.  I've not heard you say a thing about his affair.  He has more or less been told by his fellow Republicans that they forgive him and are ready to just forget about it all.

Mark Sanford is just getting the media attention, which is all that really matters in these cases.  If he had somehow been able to keep this all low key and not have gotten national attention drawn to it, the Republicans woudl be more than ready to just brush it all under the carpet and move on.
