as is the entire poem...

This line really struck me as profound. So often how we perceive things is tainted by past occurrences, we don't enjoy things in their fullest light because there is this notion that it could be better if some past event had not happened. Any way, I loved this poem and the idea that a friend brought joy to you with their own happiness.
