Fabulous post. I've recently learnt of a Tamil (south Indian) customc called 'Kashi Yatra'. The groom, on the wedding day, pretends that he is renouncing this world and leaves home dressed in saffron clothing and bare essentials. The girl's father requests him to accept her as his life partner and the groom eventually relents and is brought to the marriage venue!-hardilaziz

Glad to see you back again Nita! It was very interesting to read about these customs from other cultures.

I had difficulty in locating this post. When I clicked on your name I arrived at the last post about salt. Then I clicked on the title on the right hand side of the page and hey presto found your article.
