Which would you call them?
In decending order,
#1, Those painful things that rub and pull off the hairs on the top of my feet, and give me sand blisters between my toes!
#2, An UGLY, uncomfortabe couch!
# 3, Pepsi wanabes!
#4, Garish looking footwear, that costs as much as a week's pay!

I was going to say something about thongs or flip flops, but the only thing I could think of

Not that I have anything against shoelaces. You just have to be careful about how you wear them.
