You see, what made this poem so interesting was the manner in which you started it; more like an exhortation, and then it progressed into a lamentation over a loved one who has passed away. Indeed...We Should Never Take for Granted, Even a Second We are Allowed By Our Maker to Live. And you know my favorite line..."feed the flesh...and the soul, God's word"(paraphrased). Kudos!

We do tend to forget that we don’t have forever and sometimes it takes the loss of a loved one to remind us that each day is precious.

Good!  I try to take nothing for granted--especially life.
Here today/gone tomorrow is a sad epitaph for loved ones and friends,
and one day for myself.
