Yeah, it was pretty ridiculous. I'm not a dedicated idol watcher, but I look to see who the winner and runners-up are after the finale, and I was shocked at the results after watching the two perform.

It's very interesting to read the replies, truly it is, but you're saying Adam is less marketable than Daughtry - another stand-out individual who never made the final ? To me you start with 500% and have a bad day, you'll fall to 490% - start with 75 and you're soon down to 59 - anybody like to make me a bet of any stake Adam will be more commercially successful than Kriss ? If Adam had a CD out I'd buy/download it today !!

I told my mother (who is a big American Idol fan)
that I didn't think Adam would win. I rarely watch it, but around these parts, you can't help but catch a glimpse here and there.
To me, Adam was simply not marketable, and I think the vast number of at-home viewers knew it. Kris, as boring as he is, is at least marketable (in my opinion).
