Yes, many schools here in North Carolina used this day to teach the children about what Memorial Day was all about and that was well worth it! Most of them do not know our history and that is ashame.

I'm afraid (if I had kids) that they would have been staying at home. .,
on Memorial Day. The very lesson that they would have learned about resistance would have been more than they would have learned during the school session for the day.
