Personally,
I feel that our country's middle-class was taken advantage of by the banks.  We were tempted and VOLUNTARILY decided to participate in the instant gratification game.  Along with that instant gratification comes payment to the banks themselves.  In essence, more and more people were became slaves to re-paying the privilege of that instant gratification.

Everything WILL get better.  Everything simply has to re-align. ., along with our values.

That's very true. And the noticing, giving and caring should not be restricted to a recession but continue in good times too.

I would just like to point out that the opposition of the Australian government tried to say that we aren't in a recession either, but it's a load of crap because we all are. Latest statistics have shown that America is fairing worse than Australia althoughI'm not sure for how long...My grandad is one of those people who has to choose between important items. By the times he pays the bills he's left with $60 a fortnight to feed himself. I'm with you on this one.
