Re: Gomedome
Thank you. I can only speak for myself as to why it is so difficult to adhere to the ideals of Jesus. Ego seems to be much easier to follow than a path of love for the Jesus/ Love/ Truth that is in everyone I meet. ~Peace

OTA. - no doubt that Jesus fellow had some good ideas
The framework of the philosophies accredited to him are universally applicable to all of mankind. Why is so hard for some of those who proclaim their allegience to him the loudest to adhere to these worthy ideals?

..needed to say those things..

AS WELL YOU SHOULD...I liked hearing your 'voice' here.

No one who writes on Blogit is the supreme authority on anything - that is why, just like in conversation - many voices should be heard (or in this case, read)

Say what you want, deal with the consequences, say what you want...deal...say again...deal again. Why not? That's how mature 'grown-ups' converse. Maybe they should ban just the 'baby' voices - I don't think 'the word police'  know the difference. They don't want to 'deal with' the give and take of  real conversation. I even like to hear the baby voices speak. It' s a study in humanity and spiritual growth. Usually you can tell who you are listening to after a few sentences. So teach them something by continuing to speak your mind..

Keep speaking your mind. Kathy

Thank you.  Your comment made me think of this quote..

OTA
The blabbermouths will remain blabbermouths. It is their destiny not to change, not to learn, not to give, so please do not be upset not lose your sleep over them. Vastness is just Love, all-encomassing, the glue that binds universe, also vastness can encompass both good and bad. Not only Christians, many Hindus are like that, and are in all religions. Cheer up!

I think for many, fear drives them...for others, it's a sense of misplaced

responsibility of telling others "what for" but it's not done in love, and often times, it's mixed with error and misunderstanding of scriptures.

I always enjoy your posts because I see and feel love from you...the spirit of love is what brings others to repentance...fear only drives people further away.

We may not always agree with those around us, but I would much rather live with kind, loving wrong people, than judgmental, fear-monging hateful right people.

OTA, I commend you for this heartfelt sentiment...
which I completely & whole-heartedly share. If there is an omniscient omnipresence, these sentiments would be directed by that to ALL people, religious and non-religious. The sentiments so humbly & beautifully expressed in this blog have a unifying effect, and as such deserve positive responses from ALL people. Blessings,

Smileycons! I agree with all you have said and also find it very sad that any human being would anoint themselves to know God's wisdom and Agape Love for all His children.

It's a beautiful sight to see people of every faith praying at Mother Teresa's tomb, near the statue of Our Lady Of Fatima and a figure of Jesus. Thanks very much for your kind comment on my post. Nita.

I never understood those type of "Christians" either.  I thought we were all out to help others, be compassionate and understanding...not judgmental.  It's a heartache to see.

posted by NiteTide on May 9, 2009 at 10:37 AM | link to this | reply

OTA... I am upset about it, as well.

I know that God in any religious sect would not bring forth such hate and judgement.

Judge ye not, leat ye be judged. Let he, who is without sin cast the first stone.

I believe God is caring, loving and forgiving, not ready to throw someone to a bottomless pit of fire and torture, if they don't follow the same exact teachings of any one particular belief system. It is assinine to even think it would be true.

You are a wonderful, beautiful person, OTA. xoxoxoox Forget all the crazy nonsense of the rambling maniac.
