They have to do that in the Times Square area. . . ,

because there are soooo many people coming in off the streets to use their facilities, then head back out onto the streets.  I would hate to imagine the water bill for a restaurant in Times Square!!  LOL  Great pictures and post!  Surely intriguing for anyone who has ever dreamed about going to New York.

I love your Central Park pictures.   I do remember, vividly, the pay toilets.  One thing that was good about them in my day was that the establishment usually hired a maid to keep them extra clean and nice, whereas the free ones were usually cruddy.

I also thought pay toilets were a thing of the past…. It’s usually a tactic to keep the “homeless” out.  Your lunch looks yummy…. and now I'm hungry.

lol...it's been a LONG time since I've seen one of those.

I used to "crawl under" to go to the bathroom...of course I was only 2-3 then.
