Re: Re: besides, Corbin
WOL -- I am merely pointing out Corbin's comment below where he compares February of 2009's Arctic ice cover to that of recent years.

I am merely pointing out that the comparison graph includes only the past several years, and, according to NASA, which has observed this, the ice cover in those years is at record lows.

I would not deign to cite data myself here, but would refer you to NASA, as I have been doing.

It's easy to garner information from NASA.  And I would also venture to say that the data compiled does not lie.

Re: besides, Corbin
Which raises another question: How far back in time does the "record" you cite go? Most strictly, only to when accurate data was first recorded.

Did I miss something here?

Maybe I'm just a mind-numbed right-wing extremist teabagger, but you contradicted yourself in this and the previous post.

This one starts with an article about antarctic ice growth.

The previous has a screamer title, MORE ON THE ANTARCTIC ICE SHELF COLLAPSE.

?????  ?????

Well, which is it? Is the Antarcitc ice growing, or not? Maybe you're still a bit shell-shocked from my refutation of your claim that one day of warmer temperatures is proof of "global warming" (see http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/WriterofLight9282/602085), no?

The "science" of global warming at its best: The same ice grows and shrinks at the same time.

besides, Corbin
you are comparing to the past several years, years of record low ice -- hardly a comparison.

From the International Arctic Research Center:

AMSRE_Sea_Ice_Extent.gif

The red line indicates that we have the highest observed Arctic ice levels in years.

Meanwhile, from the mendacity industry:

Halt Ice Melt, Pleads Gore
Arctic Ocean Could Be Ice-free in Summer Within 100 Years, Scientists Say
Scientists Issue Warning on Future of Central Arctic
Massive Surge in Disappearance of Arctic Sea Ice Sparks Global Warning
New Warning Over 'Catastrophic' Sea Level Rise, Scientists Claim

There are a million more where these came from. The underlying theory was pioneered by Joseph Goebbels:

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.

Goebbels continues:

The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.

By the same token, the liberal media is the greatest friend of the State.
