mariposa75 - first off, there is no letter "n" in my site user name

To say I do not believe that "God is real" is not entirely accurate. I am only certain that a conscious and all powerful creator being as traditionally defined by religious doctrine does not exist. I arrive at this conclusion by reason and logic but also must honestly concede that my level of certainty is fortified by the same gut feeling as all other positions on this subject.

There are a number of other possibilities as to what could be considered God, it is with this in mind that I must refer to myself as an agnostic.

I am guessing you do not believe God is real. I don't want to say "know", because I have not read enough of your blogs to know for certain that is where you stand,You may be right about what I was trying to say.  I believe in the God of the Bible, and not necessarily the one that "religion" has created.  It sounds contradictory, but I've learned over many years that people can say God is a certain way, when actually he is not.  I think he would be happy that you are using your mind and thinking about things, if you are open to the possibility that he exists.  I don't think he is the way you imagine him to be though.  You are a very deep thinker and perhaps I have a simple faith. I basically "know" God through experience(s) and I also believe the Bible is the Word of God.  I hope we can respect that we believe differently.  If I have offended you in the past by being rude, please forgive me.  That is not my intention to disrespect anyone.

mariposa75 - Re: gnomedome:

I create a scenario of pretending that God does exist and then asking or telling him things quite often in this blog. I'm not completely sure what you were driving at in your comment but it looks like it is based on the often used theme of; "what will I say to God when I find out he is real?"

Correct me if I am wrong but that is what it looks like. To quickly answer that question; if the God that is traditionally defined by religious beliefs does in fact exist, he will applaud me for my non belief in him. The reason being that I let personal integrity define my beliefs. If this being has a problem with my arriving at the conclusion that he does not exist and places believing in him and worshipping him above all other considerations, he needs to be re-defined. We could start by using the words vain and duplicitous.

You said share your thoughts.  Here is mine.  Pretend for a minute that God is real.  Then tell him all the things that you'd like to if he was.  Tell him you don't believe he is real.... Be honest how you feel about him (if he was real).  just a thought...

you are correct
but its not god -- it's the people that have the hallucinations about god.

ZenMom - I was blocked by that blogger pre-emptively
I would presume just in case I ever decided to comment. The "witnessers" that come here to tell us about the love of their imaginary God are always good for a laugh.

"He IS, and He is to come. From the beginning of creation, God has shown Himself strong. All power is given unto Him both in heaven and in earth. I will no longer argue with skeptics about His existence. I know Him and He knows me, I love Him and He loves me. It is a God-kind of love that He gives and it supercedes any love that we have ever known."

via texasgem.........and what a "gem" this is. That's the type of response one can expect from a godbot........Incidentally, he banned me from commenting. I guess he didn't approve of me calling his god an asshole evil.
