I so agree with you that what we are is vital and 'wants' while natural, are overrated in our materialistic society.

Deepak Chopra MD also comes from India and is one of my greatest modern heroes. I included a link to his website. He is marvelous - inspired. I am sure you know about him already, but I just wanted to mention him just in case. He is right on the same page as you, I believe.
