She hurt the giver's feelings for absolutely no reason - the gesture was made in good faith and the response was a slap in the face! If you are given a gift for whatsoever reason you should accept it in the faith it was given and say thank you regardless; many blessings and thanks

It WAS sad to see her not accept. Is hurting another's person's feeling worth standing firmly by your policies? But that's me. People enjoy gifting for the pure joy of giving. To deny someone that, would make me feel guilty because you can see the hurt in their eyes...
