Aw, thank you mneme.  The only thing is, nobody on Blogit knows how nice or nasty I am - This is online me.

johmmacnab, sounds like he's a bit of a strange one.  Obviously has issues... the dog too? They just don't know how nice you are.

How did you guess, BrightIrish.  She got more than two when the other dog went back to his owners.

I think I would cross the street too, BC-A.   Our dog, Samantha, thinks she owns any and every thing she sees looking out of any window in the house, but she doesn't get the chance to act on her belief.

Smileycons!I don't like you were ignored in such a manner but glad that man got a good head soak. The doggie let you know that you were a special friend that he did not want to share .. I'd give him two biscuits.

Neighborly news. In my neighborhood a small black and yellow mutt Willy growls, patrols the public sidewalk on his block, and growls at me. It has bitten me twice. There’s also a toy poodle and two new larger dogs that would really take bites out of you. Now I cross the street.Bill*s Roost

I certainly did Joe.  It didn't do my ego any good.  Usually when I'm fobbed off, it is done with more panache.

Ah Ha!  I knew there was a reason why I hadn't applied for membership of the country club.  I knew I wouldn't be accepted - and cared less.

Ohmy!! You got dissed for real!!
HAHA  I've never heard of somebody "faking" using a water fountain to ignore anybody.  I would have probably burst out laughing if I had seen the water rushing out and hitting the brim of this "experts" cap, while he was standing there bent over it.  LOL

Because they are banned from the country club as "not good enough"?

That's a nice way of looking at it, majroj.  Thank you.  I don't understand why we amateurs can't play on one court and let the pros play on the other.

My freezing ex-opponent's behaviour had me seething with rage at first.   I considered not going back; then practicing more so that I could beat him.  But although I love playing the game it doesn't consume me to that extent.  Today I'm going back and we shall see what we shall see.

I think your feelings were mutual but your social skills topped his.

Well, your doggie friend had a way of clueing you in, I liked that bit.
But your semi-pro tennis player was a bit of a jerk.  He'll get his one of these days - maybe a rank amateur will beat him... hah!
