It seems to be a war of attrition developing...
...and whoever runs out of food loses. And we know those in the raft will go hungry first, which means the U.S. Captain will, too.
Hopefully, the prospect of them starving to death will sway them, and if they let the Captain starve, they'll have lost all bargaining power and will immediately...and literally be dead-in-the-water.
