Vin Numbers
I call on the well-informed Blogit community to research something for me; I have heard that the first digits of a VIN tell you where a car was manufactured.  I had a "Dodge" Colt that was made in Japan (by Mitsubishi). I've driven a Honda Civic made in Tennessee.  Does anyone know the codes for the VIN numbers?

Excellent post. Let's not forget about the other car makers. I am the manager at a Toyota store and if there are huge tax breaks for those that buy from those two companies, that will hurt our business. Besides, most Toyotas are built in the US, not the typical US company that has it's units built in Mexico. There is much at stake here. Government Motors!!

PS
One more thing; can you explain why this is unconstitutional? Which section? How is this different from Saint Ronald firing the PATCO strikers?

"Firing" of GM's CEO
I tell you one thing, it was a beautiful political move.  To wit, have you read or heard a single mention of AIG bonuses since the firing?

BTW. he wasn't fired; he was "urged" to resign.  The leverage? Resign, or your company won't get another penny of bailout money, will circle the drain and there goes your retirement money! Wagoner took his $23 million and ran.

But I feel if the American taxpayer has to invest heavily in these companies, we (via the Prez) should have a say in how it's run.  As the Big Tuna said: If they want you to cook the dinner, at least they ought to let you shop for some of the groceries."
