As a parent, I am deeply offended.

I am offended, too, by the fact that apparently, people have equated the word "Christian" with the words "doormat" and "ignoramus."  They can do what they want, and we are either ignorant for opposing their superior views, or we are just supposed to lie there complacently.  I can't stand that attitude.  You know me personally, and you know that I am certainly not a confrontational person (far from it), but I would have been a confrontational person that day!  My child would have been whisked out of sight by her daddy and I'd have been all up in their faces on that issue, for the sake of the other kids.  This is deeply troubling.

Justi, it was a deeply offensive and quite unpleasant film, and the incident you described (about the dinner guest) featured in the film itself.  I wondered if those people were actually prepared for what happened, it didn't seem like it had been rehearsed.  Mystery perhaps solved.

If you are wondering why I sat through it, I went to see it with my husband. It suits his kind of humour. Not mine though. We are not at all alike in our tastes; the divorce papers are in process now after more than four years of estrangement and he still doesn't want to sign them.  There's no explanation for some people's ways, Cohen included. I wouldn't like to be married to him.
