Children grow up way too fast. Somewhere along the way, the lessons on manners, self respect and respecting others was lost in the shuffle

There has always been child abuse - it was just swept under the rug before.  And yes, I do know "Bringing Heaven Down to Earth" - I'm quoting from book #2 in my blog.  Mal

I forgot to say that his mother was 13 or 14

when she had her first child. I just disagree with  children  being given so much knowledge so early. They need some sort of innocence and a childhood.

Since the advent of this new morality there are frightening numbers of children abused. Some will say that it has always been around and we are just more aware of it now? I am not so sure.

In Yemen and some of the north African countries
A friend of mine now deceased unfortunately was on of 15 children. His mother came to Israel from Yemen in the 30's. She had had twin girls who died in Yemen and the two older girls Yochevet and Ester survived and came to Israel with her. Very sad story  is the history  of his family. One boy died because something fell on him, one drowned of a drug overdose on Tel Aviv beach and another son has still got a bullet in his head from the Yom Kippur war and deals with it. Two daughters had children by married men, one was married to one of Israel's favourite actors, another went to Canada and is a professional singer, one was a member of the Urgun and lives on a moshav. She is crippled because a tractor rolled back onto her when she was in her thirties, and another is happily married to the same man for the last fifty years. All in all a fairly 'typical' family dealing with traditional values meeting today's lack of values in modern society......

Kids are growing up way too fast these days; but of course in the "old days" girls were married off by the time they were 12!  Mal
