I don't think it's necessarily childish to use the block feature.  When I witness another blogger behaving in a way I find offensive, or worse, I've witnessed them attacking another blogger, I might use the block feature for a small amount of time, until things cool down.  The block feature is there for a reason, after all.  It all depends on where a person is in their life at the time.  Sometimes, I am simply unable to handle "attacks" emotionally.  Even if it is not an attack, I know how I am.  I'm sensitive.  There are times when I am simply too raw and vulnerable to withstand it.  Also, I might do the flight-or-fight thing.  The last thing I want is to find myself caught in a blog war.  We've lost some wonderful writers because they didn't know when to walk away.

It would be like writing a book that gets bad reviews.  Why would I sit around reading my hate mail?  It's called satsangh, surrounding oneself with energy that builds and sustains --not the kind that tears down and drains.

Blocking is an option. I have been blocked by people whom I don't know or interact with. Its people who treat blogit like a chatroom and those who have hidden agendas who make life rough here. All they can see is emotion, sex and race in other peoples work or comments. Dark side people are everywhere!

Well written and timely post!
It does boil down to acting like adults..I no longer block people anymore either - I have in the past, but decided a few months ago to roll with whatever may come my way....:)
