Ell earned her Lindt at least, mneme.  We only have to babysit two afternoon/evenings per week - from 1 until 9, but it is unbelievably exhausting - but, when the girls are in a tizzy they always run to Granny, leaving me feeling like a spare at the normal place.  Roll on September when the older of the two goes to school and their mum has to stop working ---------we hope.

Nice to hand them back, they always say - and you earned the scotch and Lindt.  How nice to see a Cardinal - living in NC for three years I was able to take them for granted (but didn't) - they must look lovely against the snow.

TAPS.
I'm with you on that, Taps.  Grandparents who raise their grand children have my admiration and awe.  I don't know how they can do it.

Surreptitious?   Ah, I understand.  They were surreptitious until the sleuth Majroj Holmes sniffed them out?

Oh, Crikey!
I was thinking in terms of the new tract homes near my house thay they just turned into surreptitious pot factories.

Why didn't I think of that?  I bow to your superior detecting skills, majroj.  Or.....perhaps a group of people had been keeping a barn full of cut and dried grass ready for a spring festival.   When the grass was spread out during the Spring Dance, the Official Burner may have have been so caught up in the ceremony (ie pissed) that he/she let the fire get out of control.

I have so much respect for grandparents who, for one reason or another, find it necessary to raise their grandchildren.  I have known several.  I am so thankful that it was not necessary for me to do more than love mine with occasional visits even though they are the most wonderful children anyone could imagine.

I'm glad you liked it Sam444.  The recovery went well on Thursday and set us up for Friday's baby sitting - today is zombie day.

Spring arrived her at 6.45 am - or so I was told by the local radio announcer.  I had a mental image of Mother Nature checking her dashboard clock and feathering the gas pedal to make sure she was timely.

I can imagine the revolting state of your fishpond, and I wouldn't wade in it either.  Yesterday I had an idle thought when I was trying to distinguish the difference between the slurry that used to be flowers and the slop that just might be dog poo, why not just leave it?  Eventually it will give the archaeologists a puzzle as they dig down thru the Obama period slate.  The Cardinal seems to have flown.

Ah! Spring at last!
Maybe it was a grass fire in a hydroponic facility?

It's officially the first day of spring and it couldn't be more welcome...
I have to clean out the fishpond out back now that the ice is gone, and that's a stinky, malodorous job at best, wet and cold and frustrating. I won't wade in it, so getting to the gunk in the middle's a reach with a long-handled rake and skimmer. If I decide not to fill it in and put a gazebo over it, I've got to restock the fish to eat the mosquitoes who'll breed there. BTW, if your Cardinal sticks around I hope you get to hear him sing. They have a lovely liquid call -- two long notes followed by a series of short musical dashes.
