Your tale reminds me of when Son #3 was a college boy and working evenings at famous Savoy Restaurant in KC. A hard worker and always hungry, he was clearing off one of the tables and on the way back to the kitchen made the mistake of popping into his mouth a roll left in the basket. He was fired on the spot. HAHAHA. Not so funny--a few years later the guy that fired him was murdered by another employee (stabbed to death with a butcher knife).
