Re: ash_pradhan - the tone of the dialogue is easy to explain
True in general, but the real art of discourse lies in staying on the reasonable path despite the perceived nature of the response, peace,

ash_pradhan - the tone of the dialogue is easy to explain
Reasonable discourse fosters a response in kind, just as unreasonable discourse does.

I agree..as rational, inquisitive folks contemplate & explore further, and share their thoughts / findings unbiasedly, the boundary between the natural and the supernatural extends..that then is our contribution to the society, which in some exceptional cases, also becomes someone's legacy, as evidenced by some of the great work in science as well as spirituality, blessings,

Yes, I think so..I certainly like the tone of this dialogue, and am pleased to read that it is attracting sensible comments from other rational people as well..please continue, best wishes,

metalrat - Re: LMAO...
The same would be true after the great flood, Noah's family, who were already the products of a species fostered by incest, would have reduced the gene pool even further. As for what the carnivores on the Ark ate, I sure hope Noah counted his children before and after the voyage?

LMAO...
...Adam and Eve's children would have had to marry each other...sprucing up the gene pool...

And the carnivores on the ark...well, the ark must have gotten alot lighter while afloat! lol
As for the other questions, there are far ranging explanations(speculations) but, like you suggest, can be easily refuted.

Soul_Builder101 - for some people to live by maybe
If we are speaking of morality in the sense that it is a concern with the principles of right and wrong while conforming to standards of behavior and character based on those same principles, to some extent I agree. But a written work of any type will inevitably not keep pace with the dynamics of the progression of a society's moral standards.

hazel_st_cricket - I would go as far as to say that there is some form of

commonality or universality amongst all living things.

But I stop somewhere near that point. We have nothing but observation and speculation to have us believe that anything lies beyond the natural world. Many of the questions in this post are extrapolations of things I began asking when I was much younger, the answers offered by others haven't improved much over the past few decades.

That might be a good idea for a post.

elinjo - I agree, they are all more or less unanswerable questions
But in being such is where their value lies.

You certainly provoked my interest! Maybe Constantine's presbyters and King James messed up but there is enough moral guidance in the bible to live by!

I have to say, I have asked many similar questions and also recieved
lame answers. We 're supposed to go on blind faith. How can one particular sect of religion claim to be the one and only pathway to heaven? I do not believe in organized religion. I think the Bible is a collection of beautiful fables designed by power hungry men to try to impose morals on a time when people had few. I believe in Spirit, and I have many questions which go unanswered about that, as well. I believe God / Spirit / Universal energy lives within us and all around us. I am a believer in the Gospel of St. Thomas.

Good beginning, thought provoking...
some of us would be interested in your take on these, whenever!

You are going to have to wait until eternity to get answers to all those questions!
