Soul_Builder101 - you get funnier as you go along

In suggesting that your imaginary God could have "created" the first particle of hyper condensed matter or the first replicating carbon based cell I am merely conceding the truth. No one, including you, knows where these precursers came from. The picture is incomplete and ever changing with discovery but irrefutable evidence supporting the accepted positions of mainstream science abound. Extinction of earlier species for example, is hardly an argument for the existence of an omnipotent creator being, on the contrary, if an intelligent designer in fact existed, it is irrefutable evidence of his fallability. Another example is the comparison of the human and chimpanzee genomes, which again proves irrefutably that we at least share a common ancestry. Unlike you and other "church basement scientists" I only look at the facts as objectively as possible. Here is a good article, (unless of course one believes that the National Geographic Society is part of the illuminatti).

Curious that you should chose the platypus as an example. With a fairly extensive fossil record, it is one of many species on this planet who's mere existence provides a strong argument for evolution.

Why don't you simply leave him alone?

sb - This has nothing to do w/ morality and I am certainly not trying to "take him down". He is free to write/post what he chooses however, that means I am free to do the same.

(ZenMom sighing..........) Okay, I'll try to be nicer IF he'll try to be smarter. He has to be prepared to defend his "viewpoint". Of course, I already know what his defense will look like since I've seen/read it a thousand times before.

Re: Re: Soul_Builder101 - Re: Too funny
Zen Mom, this guy is new on blogit. Instead of welcoming him you decide to take him down. Then you all speak of atheists with morals. Give the guy a break, let him establish and when he knows the run, throw your ideas at him. He doesn't even know how to post a comment...which is why I made my initial comment! I don't care for these fights but if you all want it...you shall have it!

Re: Soul_Builder101 - Re: Too funny
Now you are proposing the possibility of God creating the first materials! How conveniently the opposing scenarios become juxtaposed. Irrefutable is a word that conjures a finality that does not exist in the propositions of evolution theory. Basically, we were not there at the beginning so all that we accept is ascribed to faith and logic. Yet, being part of creation, I can tell you that the randomness that exists in your model has no resonance in the details of creation. It is all intelligently ordered and put together. How do you explain the existence of the duck-billed platypus? Wonderful combination of features!

All theories lead to the existence of an...

"omnipresent, omniscient creative force"...what one chooses to call that force depends on one's background / training / belief etc, but not the very existence of that force.. so don't all such arguments about the former, when the latter is unquestionable, ultimately become futile, and in fact divert our energies from the real challenges of how we collectively utilize the force for the betterment of all mankind ?

This comment is addressed to all the commentors below, as well as to others, not as some kind of a personal rebuttal / insult, which I abhor, but as a genuine question from someone who is generally well-respected in the scientific as well as spiritual communities. Peace, hope this leads to a dialogue on all related blogs that can be productive, informative, educational for all readers, peace,

Re: Re: Too funny

sb - I just couldn't take it. The level of ignorance exhibited in this post put me over the edge.

Furthermore, my comment hardly qualifies as an "attack". Any person whom takes the bible literally should be tarred and feathered (verbally). The bible is JUST A BOOK (and not a very good). It reflects the culture of its time. There is NO contemporary support for Jesus OUTSIDE of the gospels which were ANONYMOUSLY written 30 to 80 years AFTER the SUPPOSED crucifixtion. That stories of the bible are just that: STORIES.

Of course, you've heard/read all this before (I have no doubt), but you have decided to ignore the ever increasing criticism of the bible. I will NOT get into a blogit war w/ you. It's exhausting. I will however, SEND you links.......hey, I'll even MAIL (at my expense) books for you to read on the subject.

Enough.

Soul_Builder101 - Re: Too funny

What is funny about this and attempts at rebuttal such as your last comment is how little you creationists know about the science you are attempting to refute. In your attempts to refute you have but two parts correct. 1. in that no one can explain where the first particle of hyper condensed matter (the primordial atom) or the first replicating carbon based cell came from. Which are the hypothesized beginnings of the misnamed Big Bang Theory and the scientific theory of evolution respectively. For all we know these things could have well been "created" by your imaginary God but neither of these unanswered questions invalidates what we do know to be irrefutable.

You seem to not be aware of how inaccurate your statements are, when you say this: "evolution materials that BANGED" it is meaningless, you are confusing two distinctly different scientific theories and attempting to argue them as one. 2. this is the other thing you have said that is correct: "you can't have evolution without pre-existing materials" . . . which in itself validates exactly what the scientific theory of evolution proposes; how life changes over time.

My point is that neither scientific theory is at odds with the existence of an omnipotent creator being. It is only the ill informed and erroneous interpretations of these theories that those who have little comprehension of the science, are arguing against.

Adults disparaging that which they know little about will always remain funny.

Re: Too funny
Its not really funny! Explain where the first EGG came from in Big Bang theory, and you may have new adherents. But, you can't have evolution without pre-existing materials. Now make up a theory for the existence of pre-evolution materials that BANGED! You and Zen Mom better know this....don't attack people who wish to be free of your BS. I mean that!

Too funny

I can answer all of your questions pertaining to how a "sonic blast" can create something. It can't, nor has any real scientist ever used such an innacurate term to describe the proposed expansion in a void from the primordial atom, or what you are referring to as the Big Bang theory. A sonic blast or boom is created by a projectile breaking the sound (or sonic) barrier within the earth's atmosphere.

What is it about that holy book of yours that causes people to be incabable of opening a dictionary? Or worse, make them intent on challenging the validity of that which they are incapable of defining?

"It is sad that so many people believe in evolution."

This statement leaves me speechless. It scares me to know that people (such as yourself) actually question evolution. What scares me more is knowing that people actually think the bible is fact. It's just sad.
