I LOVE this blog! Ed and I rode in a howdah when we visited Sri Lanka the year before the tsunami. The elephant ride was less comfortable than I had anticipated!

What a delight that festival must be!
We only get to see elephants at the zoo, in the circus, or on TV. Those guys in the zoo are VERY bored and lack exercise. I feel so sorry for them there.

Wow, both of these festivals would be wonderful to attend. The Elephant Festival, is filled with Hindu Traditions and fun. I checked it out on the internet and youtube, fascinating.

Yet another interesting account, Nita! I should love to see a tug of war between elephants and human beings; do the humans ever win? Enjoy your day! I look forward to reading your next post.
