There are a billion people in China....
so that's less than 7% of the population. I recall reading about a year ago that only 4% of Chinese have a phone line. What's significant about this is that demand for Internet is quickly outstripping the country's ability to access it via traditional dialup connections, and it will be WAY too costly to lay lines out for each person who wants to get connected...thus creating a HIGH demand for wireless Internet.
Expect to see companies like Oracle, Taiwan Semiconductor, Qualcomm, Applied Materials and Intel experience rapid growth matching that of China's Internet users.
