Ah, now you are asking for something really difficult--changes in perception--not impossible, but very hard to come by.

TAPS. - I wouldn't call imagining an atheist society a "wish"
If such a thing were even possible, it could very well take on the characteristics of Jonestown. Then there is the very real notion of the risk involved. Who knows how the loony tune theocratic societies of the world would react? I can envision a "Fatwah" issued immediately and threats to nuke it off of the face of the earth. . . . I can't say that I would wish for such a thing, something far less ambitious such as changes in public perception are reasonable things to hope and strive for.

Re: I'd be the first in line for citizenship,
Little_Girl_Blue - I tend to agree. If not some form of superstitions or rituals infiltrating yet another attempt at a Utopian society, inherent human shortcomings would find a way to mess things up.

You say that this post is just an exercise of the imagination.  Albert Einstein said "Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”  Maybe one day you will get your wish.

I'd be the first in line for citizenship,
but I don't think any society that excludes religious peoples could exist for long. Arguably, religion only exists as a way for people to explain the unexplainable - miracles are an intervention from the divine when no scientific answer is readily available. Even if religion were somehow kept out, I think superstition and ritual would probably take its place.
