I cite facts published by others.  Just as you cite information that you discover.

People cite such all the time.  I, of course, do not declare myself an expert.  I only know what I read in reports and hard data provided and I don't think I need to come a conclusion independent of the data -- the dats speaks for itself.

Re: Who stands to profit from what here?
No- that little blip on the screen doesn't make my temperature rise one iota (or even a hundredth of a centigrade degree oir even fahrenheit)  Two things abouit it --  There was a graph, as the author mentioned, that contained a great spike in the rise of temperature or whatever -- I would suppose the graph was suspect, not the idea that human activity has caused the recent rise in temperatures.

We use a little A=B and B = C; therefore A=C logic here.  Human activity has produced more CO2; it has been amply demonstrated that Co2 raises air temperature in controlled environments; data from ice cores show a correlaton between increased co2 in the atmosphere and increased atmospheric temperature;

THEREFORE -- It is highly likely that human activity is responsible for much of the rise in CO2 in the atmosphere, thus the rise in temperatures.

Read my response to your author's assertion -- my temperature isn;'t rising, but my fear is -- and that of everyone affected should also.  Because if it isn't human activity that is responsible, we are bound for an unavoidable disaster.

Who stands to profit from what here?

Xenox claims, "And what would the main impetus behind this denying be?  Profits for energy companies.  I have linked to an article that shows the tens of jillions of dollars energy companies have provided to scientists and others in order to counter the plain statistics that I have continually provided links to."

Does that article include companies like General Electric that stand to make a killing on "global warming" measures? Does it mention that Al Gore also will rake in tremendous profits from these measures? See http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/WriterofLight9282/542763 for discussion.

And speaking of The GORE (Grand Omnipotent Revered Expert), here's the link to my article that causes Xenox's own temperature to rise another degree or two : http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/WriterofLight9282/598642. The subject was not disasters as such, but rather The GORE being forced to withdraw his claim that any increase in natural disasters is due to manmade "global warming" after a scientist (hello, stonedead!) proved him wrong - including proving that the source The GORE was citing contradicted him.

Re: agreed

I'm not, but I gladly cite those who are - and not just any scientists. I try to focus on the climatologists, the men and women who actually know something about this stuff instead of just shooting off their mouths to be politcally correct.

And since you asked: Is Xenox "a scientist who has published a peer-reviewed paper?" If not, then should not his claims be regardly as skeptically for that reason as you infer mine should be?

agreed
I don't know what's up with the "resident denier," but the average global temperature has increased, symptoms of this increase are being seen, and we do have an explanation for the human origin of these atmospheric changes.  Scientists are in agreement.  Is the resident denier a scientist who has published a peer-reviewed paper?
