I got a similar letter from Frank Pallone about the Economic Stabilization
Act, in response to my e-mail telling him it was unnecessary and destructive.

I have my own column now in the Johnsonville Press, so that I am actually read.

Re: RedStatesMan,

My first question is how old are you? I was born American, spouthern by the grace of God, my great, great uncles and grandfather fought in the Civil War and my dad fought in WWII and you claim I am not an American? Do not make such foolish errors.

I do hope and pray Obama does well for our nation but I do not support someone who does not represent my beliefs. I pray that the Lord will guide him through this but I will not support his liberal views.

Reagan and both Bush presidents were buffoons? I am not sure where you have been over the last 30 years but apparently not interested in politics. You just named the last four presidents and did not mention Carter which our economic situation was the same as it is now under Carter. The economy will go up and down no matter who is president but it is all about how you handle it and Obama would be better off if he did not listen to worthless people like Barney Frank, Pelosi and Reid, but he is.

Then you call me, of all people, a commie? You need to examine what has been going on over the last, say, 40 years. I am not sure where you are coming from but I know you are a current resident of Georgia which puzzles me. Did you just move there from the North? Maybe that explains it or otherwise you've been living in or around Plains, Ga. too long boy! WAKE UP!

A rather interesting reply you got there! If the sum total of bailouts and stimulus were given directly to the people, each would have received $50k. That is only one computation. Now that could have helped pay mortgages and sustain consumer spending....to pre-empt job cuts. Instead they chose to support banks, insurance, auto-makers, contractors in construction etc. The people get something like $8 every two weeks? Such a ripoff that various cities are now having 'tea parties'. There are huge protests being planned and around 30 states have affirmed the 10th Amendment. Not everyone is captivated by the official storyline!

RedStatesMan,
  1. You people are not American!
  2. What happened to "support" the President?
  3. Supporting a buffoon (can't think of any other name, I guess Reagan/Bush/Clinton/Bush would suffice) got us in this mess, you people could at least support a "real" American to help get us out?
  4. This is America, you Commie!
  5. Complaining seems to be all you people want to do!
  6. Stop It!

Hmmmmm???   Odd how the letter contains the exact same words, with numbers adjusted for the state sent from, as letters being received by people all across America......
