elinjo - there is no argument against what you are suggesting
It is inevitable that mankind must find ways to unite or we will perish.

I am only arguing in favor of common denominator that could unite people instead of dividing them; is that dangerous?

elinjo - there is no arguing with the validity of the golden rule
The example you give being simply another version of. . . . it is the unfortunate reality that we must begin our sentences with "If" . . . as in; if only mankind would adhere to this most basic of common sense principles in our dealings with our fellow man. Ultimately that was the point of this post, it doesn't take long before religious beliefs have people forgetting the most basic aspects of the underlying message that they claim to be proponents of.

The greatest problem, as far as I can see, is narrow-minded arrogance; and we can all be guilty of that.

If instead of worrying about often minor differences between traditions and rites, one paid more attention to basic ethics we would perhaps make the world a more tolerant and collaborative place to live. The Jewish sage Hillel formulated his ethic of recipocity or Golden Rule  in the following way: "That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow. That is the whole Torah; the rest is the explanation; go and learn."

Now you do not have to be Jewish or even a member of religious faith to follow it, it seems to me to be a sensible fundament for all human beings, even those who do not believe in God.
