As dumb as the Iraq war was they achieved their objective. As for Afghanistan that situation is probably another Vietnam even though that's where the taliban is.
It wouldn't matter where Obama started a war there wouldn't be any protesters. Only the left seems to protest war because it's in their nature to bitch. And since a lefty is in office they probably won't attack him. If a Republican were in there now and sent more troops to Afghanistan there probably would be protests saying it's another Vietnam and that we were causing genocide and all that and that Bin-Laden is a ghost forget it.
All any of this proves is a bunch of bull and that people always back their boy no matter left or right, no matter the occasion.

You seem to have a selective memory about what Obama said during the campaign. He said the war in Iraq was questionable at best, being justified by unsupported conclusions based on the intelligence available, and prosecuted badly for at least the first three years. But he was fully supportive of the war in Afghanistan, and said all through the campaign that success there would require more troops. Now he is making good on his promises.

RSM, there is No contradiction there
Obama took troops out of Iraq, just as he promised
and put them where they were needed. This shows that he is working on getting us
out of Iraq in a timely and safe manner.
Thanks to how Bush screwed everything up and let
those who actually attacked us on 9/11 run free and keep Afghanistan
destabilized, Obama has to fix the problem Bush caused there first if he wants
to get the troops out of those countries in the most reasonable
manner.
No one thought he would just pull them all over
night and be done with it. Right now this looks to be the right choice in
cleaning up yet another mess Bush left him.
He is still going to get us out of Iraq by a
reasonable time table and get things settled down in Afghanistan. He has done
nothing yet that would suggest otherwise. My guess is when he says ' Mission
accomplished it will be the truth and we will be able to put all that crap
behind us.
