"A true believer will never give precedence to reason, evidence and logic"
...I wonder how someone can make such a statement and not see the pervasive brainwashing therein. Blindly following someone off the edge of a cliff without taking the time to reason it out for yourself is not being a "believer" it's being a fool. And, happily stating that as long as one believes, it doesn't matter if they use their brain or not...

Re: TAPS. - in your comment you imply some value to be gleaned from having
I'm not sure that I can explain that to your satisfaction, or maybe I can, because your satisfaction probably would be in the fact that I won't make sense to you.
If this world turned out to be the only thing there is and the end of life was the end of everything for man, then you would think that believers such as I would be, of all men, most miserable, in having missed out on some earthly honor or experience. Not so, since belief in God and in Christ His Only Begotten Son who Is God Himself from the beginning of creation, is in itself, fulfilling, giving peace, joy, and strength to succeed at anything.
The conundrum is that the faith one has, which itself is a gift of God, also brings those things for which learned men seek so diligently--only it is the reason, evidence and logic of God Himself given to man by His Spirit. Now you can LOL, it won't bother me at all

TAPS. - in your comment you imply some value to be gleaned from having
faith in God's word over reason, evidence and logic.
What exactly is the value of not giving precedence to reason, evidence and logic over faith in God's Word? How is the ability to do so somehow a positive aspect of someone's makeup?

Xeno-x - Re: they believe -- and they can't let go
It would be fine if the ignorance was not being spread so vociferously into public domain.

A quote if I may, "...of course, no one will admit to being against reason, evidence, and
logic--that's like being against Motherhood and Apple Pie..." ~ Alan Sokal, Beyond The Hoax
He's wrong of course, being an atheist, he doesn't really grasp what makes a believer in Christ a believer. A true believer will never give precedence to reason, evidence and logic over faith in God's Word. It is not in them to do so.
